About.
Chris Li grew up in a grass root family in Hong Kong. He was greatly influenced by his devout christian mother. She taught her children to sing hymns and play the harmonica. Most important of all, she instilled the interest of music in them.
Chris was picked to join a community children choir when he was in elementary school. That gave him the opportunity to learn music in a more formal setting and gave him the exposure of performing in big concert halls, radio, TV and even in a movie.
He started to play the piano for church and direct a choir since he was in junior high school. Later on, he went to the US to further his education in both music and computer science.
Although he chose a career in IT, he never forsook his passion in music. He was actively involved in the music ministries in church and community orchestras.
He started writing music when he was nine. It was more for his own experiment and self expression. Not until when he was in college, he wanted to give his friend a wedding gift and started to write a song for his friend's choir. Since then, he took composition more seriously. Most of the songs he wrote were for special occasions such as weddings, anniversaries of some organizations, church dedications, theme songs for retreats, etc. There is usually a story behind each song.
He is happy to share his songs with you and hope that you will enjoy them.
